The Assignment
- Principal Real Estate Investors sought to develop a sustainability recognition program for its third-party property managers.
- The goal was to encourage and highlight best practices from an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) perspective, and recognize leaders across its portfolio.
The Solution
- The RE Tech team developed the name “Cornerstone Awards”, echoing the architectural motif of the “Pillars of Responsible Property Investing” initiative.
- For added formality, RE Tech developed a program logo – with design elements that conveyed forward momentum and continuous improvement – yet in alignment with Principal’s overall brand standards.
- Launched in 2018, the Cornerstone Awards has since recognized the leadership of numerous property teams, and served as case studies for the successful implementation of sustainability strategies.
